Update from Washington, DC Portrait Studio

Washington, DC Portrait Studio

It's been a minute.

For the last half a year we have been in the process of relocating. It's something that our family wanted for a while now but the more time was passing by it seemed more like a dream than reality. Last fall after Thanksgiving we visited Washington DC and while I've been to it plenty of times this time was different. It felt like home.

I will be forever thankful for the time in my life I spent in Florida. My husband and I started our family there. Our babies including our four-legged fur baby were born there. I have very dear friends that I will miss so much having over and our kids playing together. Finally, I turned my lifelong passion for photography into reality and opened up my first in-home studio. Since then I have met so many amazing people. My studio has seen so many laughs and tears of joy when parents were picking up their printed products. Some dads were holding their baby for the very first time when I was photographing them and capturing that moment was beyond precious. I absolutely loved how my clients would just gasp when entering my studio and look through my props, little baby outfits, printed albums and books on the shelves, canvases, and metal prints on the walls. I often got asked how long it took me to collect all of those items. The answer is years. Every single item is hand-selected and handmade. I loved seeing how parents were wowed by everything they saw and just wanted to touch it. I know the feeling, I feel like a kid in the candy shop in my studio asks well. Parents would often say “I never saw anything like this on Amazon”. Made me laugh every time. Nope, you really can’t. Behind every carved wooden bowl, wicker basket, baby outfit or floral tieback stands another creative person, another family. I believe in supporting small family-owned businesses no matter if they are next door or across the world. My process of creating a perfect photograph begins way before my clients come for their baby’s photo session. Everybody’s story is unique and special. Every baby is different and I want my clients to have the best experience possible as these precious moments are YOUR story.

I am beyond honored to have photographed my clients’ little babies from the time they were in their mommas’ bellies and see them grow. From maternity, newborn babies, milestones to one-year-old cake smash, and family sessions. There’s so much to be thankful for, so many good memories.

We are starting a new page in our life. So excited to have a much larger studio and cannot wait to get back to doing what I love as we are settling in. Serving now Washington DC area, Delaware; Maryland area: Bethesda, Rockville, Annapolis, Baltimore; Northern Virginia: Alexandria, Arlington, Richmond, and more. Looking forward to meeting new families and telling their stories through my art. Contact me today to learn more about the professional portrait services I offer.

Best,

Alicia
